Welcome to the Duck Creek Ridge Owners’ Association web page. We are a homeowner owned Association with 257 lots and about 186 owners located 31 miles east on Highway 14 from Cedar City in Southern Utah’s Color Country. We are very proud of our Association; the members have worked hard to make it an attractive and fun place to live and visit. Our strong CC&Rs and Bylaws have been developed by the members to permit nice homes to be built in the wooded setting of the area while maintaining the rustic atmosphere of the Dixie National Forest. If you are looking to purchase a home in the Color Country area, please consider looking in the Duck Creek Ridge / Color Country Subdivision area. We think you will find the people here to be outgoing and friendly and the overall visual impact of the homes in the community and the hidden wonders of the forest second to none.
WHERE DO YOU STORE BITCOINS
Swains Creek Subdivision is experiencing high water flow. Several roads have standing or flowing water across them. Kane County is asking everyone to stay out of the Swains Creek area. Every vehicle that drives through the flooded areas causes additional damage to the road and will make repairs harder and more costly. If you have a cabin in Swains, you are being urged to delay any trips for the next 2 weeks to help protect the roads. Full timers, please stay at your cabins and limit travel as much as possible. Kane County crews will continue to monitor the conditions and will be making efforts to mitigate the damage. Again, please stay out of Swains Creek area if at all possible. Thank You.

Please Do Not Park on the Roadway. Vehicles may be cited / towed. Parking on the roadway prevents others from being able to move easily, if at all, and prevents the snow plows from plowing. Emergency vehicles can not get by.
Overflow parking should be sent to lot 113. The empty parking lot across from Pinewoods on Duck Creek Ridge Road and across from the Brian Harris Substation on Redwood. It is being plowed dependent on snow levels. See attached map.
Each owner has received 2 same-number parking permits. Place the permit in a visible area of the vehicles. If you need more let me know and you will receive a letter of authorization to place in additional vehicles.

The area has seen a tremendous growth in lot sales and cabin construction in 2021, with continued expansion into 2022. Lot owners who wish to make property improvements can now view the revised checklist forms used by the ARCOM members to review owner requests. The documents are particularly helpful in providing awareness of the guidelines used to evaluate any type of lot improvement or building project. The goal of the ARCOM committee is to ensure that community standards are maintained to reflect the quality and integrity of the greater DCROA. When members wish to initiate building projects or property enhancements, contact Donna Mooers at dcroa1@cox.net to begin the process.
Always remember, your DCROA is solely managed by the members of the Association. The opportunity to “be involved” is afforded to every member. The Association wants participation of members on all boards, committees, and special projects.

Minutes from the September 18, 2021 DCROA Board meeting can be found in the “Meeting Minutes” section. Due to the current Covid 19 resurgence, the Board has been dealing with many Association issues via emails, texts, and phone calls. Donna Mooers continues to actively address all of the membership concerns. Until pandemic concerns have subsided, the Board Annual Meeting will be scheduled accordingly. The DCROA committee for review and updating of the Association bylaws and CCR’s has been meeting regularly. A new version of the Article of Incorporation can be found in the “Documents” section. Drafts are being written with input from all board members. Every Association member is encourage to email Donna Mooers with any general comments for the Board or specific concerns regarding the Bylaws/CCR’s.

Every cabin and lot owner within DCROA can now take credit for all fire prevention efforts going back over the past year and including all current fire safety activity. By accounting for time and money expended on cleaning up our personal property to make the space more fire-safe, grant dollars can be earned for continued and expanded community fire prevention projects. These projects include the annual Chip Fest, fire prevention seminars, and reduction of fire threat “hot spots” in the Greater Duck Creek Area. Simple acts of man or nature can be devastating, with resulting fires having no boundaries or limits until fire crews can extinguish the final embers. By having all Association members take an active role in reducing fire fuels, we make our immediate and surrounding properties safer, AND we contribute to increased grant fund dollars to benefit the entire community. As a member of the Duck Creek Ridge Owners Association, you are also part of an even greater network of dedicated property owners with a common goal of maintaining and enhancing our Mountain community. The Cedar Mountain Community Coalition brings together several other Owner Associations along with federal/state/local agencies to focus on emergency issues, fire threats, dust reduction, road maintenance, safe vehicle operation on local roads, proper lot/cabin usage, just to name a few areas of common concern. The Coalition holds regularly scheduled meetings. DCROA members are encouraged to get involved, either by attending the Coalition meetings, or by volunteering your time and talents as a Coalition member.

The Pinewoods Resort is open for business under new ownership. Check out the new website to book any of the resort’s spacious suites and hotel rooms. The restaurant is now Aunt Sue’s Too, which is an extension of the great dining from the original Aunt Sue’s Chalet in Duck Creek Village. Expect to find the same great food and friendly service which has always been part of Aunt Sue’s.
WHEN IS THE BITCOIN ETF APPROVAL
The Duck Creek Village Association is a non-profit organization comprised primarily of local business owners. The Association goal is to promote the scenic beauty of the region and provide information about products, services, and events of interest to the public. Check out the “How can we help?” section of the website and click on any of the helpful buttons. Also look at the “Road Conditions” tab near the top boarder for a very impressive real-time display of four highway camera positions along Highway 14 between Cedar City and the junction at Highway 89 (referred to as Todd’s Junction). A permanent dumpster site immediately across Highway 14 from Duck Creek Ridge Road (just beyond the horse-back ride area but before the Fire Station) is available for all area residents. The County will continue to make improvements on the dumpster site. Kane County assumes full responsibility of clean up, snow removal on the lot, plus clean-up of hazardous or dangerous waste material.
